Equity is something I think we all strive for in this crazy messed-up world. We're rightly appalled when people are systematically denied their rights, whether it be the right to safe water and the protection of sacred lands, or the right to life and liberty. Even worse when the law takes the side of the mighty and torments demonstrators, or cannot convict a cop caught on video shooting someone in the back and planting evidence.The time is out of joint, O cursed spite!
In Advent I see the coming of one born to set it right, and I see his presence and agency in the people who work to see that equity established under the law and throughout society.
